The Outer FISH is the fruit of a lifetime of shaping, riding, and refining board designs, hand foiling fins, experimenting with shape and placement of single, twin, tri fins and quads. My ethos as a shaper, designer and surfer has always been to infuse performance into all my boards so that the rider is surfing the wave, not thinking of what the board requires.
As the world embraced the fuller outline of the fish in the late nineties after the anorexic, rockered out momentum era boards, I started refining my classic fuller curves of the eras that proceeded that. As the world went retro, I wanted to guarantee that any surfer getting my fish under his feet was still benefiting from informed, refined design theory that respected the best of the past but represented the future. My fish had to possess hidden high performance in all aspects.
In contrast to the standard wide and flat fish of the past, that aren’t capable of full rail turns or to sit well in tubes, the Outer FISH has a fine tuned blend of performance rocker and modern rails, making it equally at home in the pocket or burying the rail for a searing cutback. The Outer FISH is a surprisingly capable board when the waves get solid with all of the area offering early entry and a tonne of speed from takeoff. All of the inbuilt speed courtesy of a lifetime refining concaves means you will be taking off deeper that you thought and racing sections that before, would have had you pulling back
